SHELTER is a basic human right!

Bio:

With an architectrue background, Yuxi has always been interested in the intersection of human-centered design and technology.

Yuxi wants to streamline the housing search process, focusing on making it easier for people to find accommodations that suit their needs and preferences with a human touch. Going beyond just quantitative data, Yuxi integrates qualitative insights to provide a more human-centered approach. Using the 10025 zip code area (covering parts of the Upper West Side and Manhattanville) and Upper West Side as prototypes, Yuxi conducts thorough research into local amenities, walkability, and reviews to offer a comprehensive view of what living in this area is like.

SHELTER is basic human right. It should be easy for anyone to find a house. Finding a house in NYC is not easy. Finding a house that is a good fit is even harder. The process felt obscure and non-transparent.

My Housing Search Process felt like a maze

Where is the information? What if we can make the housing search process more human-centered, with more human touch?

Review of UWS from Reddit

I didn't come here for the nightlife I had in my 20s, but for the quality of life.
Cab prices are high.
You have everything you need up here, and you have the park and Hudson right there.
The population tends to be older and families.
UWS is indeed "boring" and quiet.
Residential feel.
There weren't enough people in their 20s.
UWS will have zero tourists, which is something I always see whilst working in Midtown.
Being near the park has changed my life tbh—got way more into running, get outdoors way more, it's awesome.
One of the most dog-friendly neighborhoods in the city.
It's a neighborhood with a ton of history. There's a reason so many TV shows and movies take place there.
There are so many amazing places to eat (hello Jacobs Pickles) and lots of bars…
Brunch, bistros, low-key bars, and famous delis.
Definitely can be a bit “sleepy” compared to other neighborhoods, but I regularly have nice little chats with neighbors on my block.
Halloween decorations are awesome on the brownstone blocks.
A good socioeconomic and multicultural mix.
Dogs, children, and seniors help give it a charming community vibe.
Residents are generally friendly and unhurried.
Jogger's paradise.
